The Medcentres Plus Travel Clinic

We provide a range of travel health services from advice to vaccinations. We combine modern convenience with traditional service providing our patients with the reassurance of personalised care.

How does it work?

Simply contact our friendly admin team who will forward you an travel questionnaire via email or post. Once you’ve returned it to us, our Nursing and GP team will review the information to provide tailored advice about the vaccines you need and healthcare information specific to your destination.

We’ll contact you with a recommendation for what you need and date to visit us for your vaccinations.

Things to remember

Most vaccines need at least two weeks to take effect and some up to four, so you need to contact your travel clinic 6 weeks before you intend to travel. This provides enough time to make sure the vaccines take effect and we can obtain up to date medical information from you.

Sometimes vaccines can be in short supply, if thats the case we’ll let you know as soon as possible to make alternative arrangements.

Please note that your patient advisor will take payment in advance to process your travel questionnaire.

What vaccines do we offer?

We offer a range of vaccines, including:

  • Hep A
  • Hep B
  • Cholera
  • Diptheria, Tetanus and Polio
  • Meningitis ACWY
  • Rabies
  • Typhoid
  • Malaria Medication Prescriptions

Vaccination Prices - Children

All Children’s vaccinations are given by one of our GPs. To calculate the cost of a children’s vaccine please add £20 to the adult price per dose required.

Quick Travel Tips

Sun exposure/protection: The sun can be hotter abroad then at home so protect yourself with sun cream and if in doubt cover up.

Accidents and Insurance: Think about adequate insurance to cover the cost of care abroad and getting you home in the worst case.

Food: Make sure hot food is hot (NOT tepid) and remember in some countries hygiene standards are not the same as in the UK.

Water and dehydration: Water can carry bacteria so check bottles are sealed when bought, and tap water is safe to drink. In warm climates remember to drink plenty to keep hydrated.
